Miracles Upon Miracles
Miracles Upon Miracles
My daughter, Jessica, has had health problems most of her life. It started with her thyroid when she was a child. She had to have that removed in January 2012. From there everything spiraled out of control. Our first miracle, was her daughter, who is now 3. She was told she would never be able to have children. During that pregnancy we found out she was type 1 diabetic. Still there has been plenty of challenges vs miracles over the years.
Most recently, six months ago, Jessica's eyesight started to fade and we found out she had rapid developing cataracts. Within 3 months she was completely blind. Being blind she couldn't manage her diabetes on her own. Especially with her husband working all day. She lived to far for me to help her consistently. Then her husband gets a job offer to work in Marion that he couldn't refuse, that would give them enough money to live on for once. Also, enabling him to bring Jessica to me each day. (Miracle 1)
Prior to this Jessica had been in the hospital twice. Once for stomach problems and once for extremely high blood sugar (700). Her A1c at the time was 13. Now your A1c tracks the last six months of blood sugars. She had to have a10 or below to get the surgery. The 13 was just a month before her pre-op appointment. At her pre-op appointment her A1c was a 9. (Miracle 2)
Throughout all of this, her husband had applied for state insurance for the surgery. She couldn't have the surgery without it. The state gave them the run around. It got approved 3 business days before surgery. Just in time for her to get her meds and get the prior authorization for surgery. (Miracle 3)
The outcome of the surgery was better then expected. She was able to read smaller items then doctor expected. The doctor was very impressed. (Miracle 4)
Before the cataract situation, I always tried to get my daughter to believe in Jesus and go to church. She started attending Springs of Life in Anamosa on her own because of seeing God at work in everything! (Miracle 5)
God works in mysterious ways to bring His lost sheep closer to Him!
