Consider Making Room

The last song we sang during our music section of Sunday worship on June 22, 2025 was called “Make Room”. This song was written by a group of called Community Music. As I listened to the chorus:
And I will make room for You
To do whatever You want to
To do whatever You want to, Jesus (repeat)

Holy Spirit reminded me of a Children’s message he gave years ago. Like most Children’s
messages he gave me an image, a visual aid to help get the point across.
Consider a glass jar with a lid filled with rice, beside the jar is a small bouncy ball.
You are the glass jar and all the rice is your life, your family, activities, desires,
possessions, etc. you get the picture, a full jar.
Let’s say the ball represents Jesus (the trinity the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit).
Now unscrew the lid and put the small bouncy ball in the jar full of rice and put the lid back on. What happens? There isn’t room for the ball.
Now take the jar full of rice empty it carefully into another container, put the ball in the
jar, now pour all the rice back into the jar. The amazing thing is every piece of rice goes back into the jar and you can screw the lid back on.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
Jesus doesn’t say clean up your life or get rid of your life. He says look to me first, I am the way, put me first. I will show you the whole truth and the only way to come into a full relationship with the LORD. I will give you the fullness of life in the midst of your everyday life. This song is a song of confession, repentance and surrender calling us to make room for our Creator, LORD and lover of our soul. Jesus replied, “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him and we will come to him and make our home with him.” John 14:23

Community Music

Here is where I lay it down
Every burden, every crown
This is my surrender
This is my surrender
Here is where I lay it down
Every lie and every doubt
This is my surrender
[Chorus]
And I will make room for You
To do whatever You want to
To do whatever You want to
And I will make room for You
To do whatever You want to
To do whatever You want to, oh
[Verse 1]
Here is where I lay it down
Every burden, every crown
This is my surrender
This is my surrender
Here is where I lay it down
Every lie and every doubt
This is my surrender
[Chorus]
And I will make room for You
To do whatever You want to
To do whatever You want to, Jesus
And I will make room for You, for You
To do whatever You want to
To do whatever You want to
Oh, I will make room for You, Jesus
To do whatever You want to
To do whatever You want to

Oh, I will make room for You
To do whatever You want to
To do whatever You want to, Jesus
[Spontaneous]
Have Your way, have Your way, Jesus, oh
We surrender all, we surrender all, Jesus
Have Your way, Jesus, have Your way, Jesus
[Bridge]
Shake up the ground of all my tradition
Break down the walls of all my religion
Your way is better
Oh, Your way is better
Shake up the ground of all my tradition
Break down the walls of all my religion
Your way is better, Jesus
Oh, Your way is better
Shake up the ground of all my tradition
Break down the walls of all my religion
Your way is better, Jesus
Your way is better
Shake up the ground of all my tradition
Break down the walls of all my religion
Your way is better
Oh, Your way is better
